Vose Consulting partner receives risk analysis PhD

Princeton, NJ, May 3, 2005 - Vose Consulting is delighted to announce that Huybert Groenendaal, managing partner of Vose Consulting's US office received a PhD in risk analysis two weeks ago from Wageningen University in The Netherlands. The Business Economics Group, where Huybert did most of his work, has a worldwide reputation for risk analysis-based animal health economics. His thesis, entitled Epidemiological and Economic Risk Analysis of Johne's Disease Control (available online or send us an email if you would like a hard-copy) demonstrated that testing and culling measures used to manage Johne's disease in cattle, a disease that may be linked to Crohn's disease in humans, is not cost effective, and that the disease is better managed by concentrating on farm management: a conclusion that resulted in a change of government strategy for managing Johne's disease in The Netherlands.
