4. Who is Vose Consulting and how can I contact them?

Vose Consulting is a specialist risk analysis consulting firm established in 1988, offering risk analysis expertise in three complimentary forms:

(3) ModelAssist risk analysis software.

5. What are the differences between ModelAssist BASIC and ADVANCED?

6. Do I need @RISK Professional to use
ModelAssist ADVANCED for @RISK?

No. ModelAssist runs independently of which version of @RISK you have.

7. Is there an Academic Program for ModelAssist?

Yes. There are two different academic licenses, (1) Individual Academic License and (2) Student (or Classroom) Licenses, both of which provide considerable discounts. You can find out more information here.

8. What are the system requirements to install ModelAssist on my computer?

  • PC Pentium compatible computer
  • 60MB hard disk space
  • Windows 98+
  • Internet Explorer 98+ (ModelAssist is not currently available for use with Netscape Navigator)
  • Macromedia Flash Player v. 6.0 or newer (free downloadable available here)
  • Excel 98+ (to run models)
  • @RISK Standard, Professional or Industrial 4.5 to run the example models.

9. Can I only install ModelAssist from a CD-rom?

No. ModelAssist can either be downloaded from the Vose Consulting website or installed from a CD-Rom. If you chose to buy the "download version" of ModelAssist, we will send you an email upon payment with a link to the website where ModelAssist is available for download. If you elect to purchase ModelAssist on CD-Rom, we will ship you the CD-Rom as soon as possible after we receive your payment.

10. How do I install ModelAssist?

The installation program will request a serial number from you which you will have received on purchasing a license. Inputting that serial number will generate a code which is specific to both your serial number and the computer on which you are installing ModelAssist. The installation program will then offer to submit that code to our web site automatically (you may also do this later manually or by phone or fax), which will authorize your software by providing a return code. You should keep a note of that return code in case you ever need to reinstall ModelAssist on that same computer. You will need to contact us at to receive a new code if you change computers.

11. My computer crashed or I got a new computer and I would like to reinstall ModelAssist. What do I do?

No problem. You can either email () or
call +1 (866) 259 7434 (Toll-free US) and +1 303 440 8524 (from outside the US) and we will reset your serial number.

12. Does the ModelAssist software expire after a certain number of years?

No. ModelAssist has no expiration date. In addition, you will receive free updates to ModelAssist for one year after purchase. After this year, you can purchase an annual maintenance to all updates at www.risk-modelling.com/store.

13. How do I download and install any updates to the ModelAssist software?

Simple. Make sure you are connected to the internet and select "Start">"Programs">"Vose Consulting">"AutoUpdate for ModelAssist".
The updating program will lead you through the process.
